Additional elements and designations in access points for work
Serial works:
Always make an addition in any of the following situations:
- to identify an agent that is a creator of the work
- to identify the place of origin of work or the related corporate body of work, where the title is generic and no creator agent of work has been identified
- to identify the place of origin of work for newspapers where the title consists of only one word
- to identify a mode of delivery that is a distinguishing characteristic of the work, for all resources except websites
Next, consider whether the access point, plus any additions that are applicable, matches a value of another access point for a different entity in the NLNZ catalogue or the ISSN Portal.
If so, make further additions to resolve the conflict. Choose the most appropriate value(s) from the options below to identify the access point for the work and distinguish it from the value of an access point for another entity. Consider the entire run of issues, and Work entity boundaries, and prefer an addition that will minimize the number of instances of Work.
See NLNZ guidance.
Static resources:

- to identify a date associated with a treaty or a protocol ancillary to a treaty
- to identify a category of a work for a comic where there is no agent that is a creator of the work
