LC/PCC practice: Apply the option. When the name of an individual performer appears in conjunction with the name of a performing group, unless there is other evidence generally do not consider the person's name to be part of the name of the group.

LC/PCC practice: Do not consider a change of name to have taken place if there are only minor differences between usages found in publications and there is no explicit evidence that a true name change has taken place. Instead consider the usages to be variants of one another.

Names of corporate body in a non-preferred script

LC/PCC practice: Record a transliterated form of the preferred name of corporate body in authorized access points where applicable, following the ALA-LC Romanization Tables: Transliteration Schemes for Non-Roman Scripts, approved by the Library of Congress and the American Library Association. Non-Latin forms that appear on the source may be recorded as Corporate Body: variant access point for corporate body.
LC practice: Non-Latin forms that appear on the source may be recorded as parallel fields for the Manifestation elements in the languages and/or scripts in the MARC-8 repertoire of UTF-8.
PCC practice: Follow the PCC Guidelines for Creating Bibliographic Records in Multiple Character Sets applicable to the PCC program.

Names of corporate body in two or more spellings

LC/PCC practice: Apply the option. For a corporate body located in a country where orthographic reform has taken place, and the first resource received gives the name of the corporate body in the old orthography, record the preferred name in that form and use it as the basis for the Corporate Body: authorized access point for corporate body. Make a Corporate Body: variant access point for corporate body from the form in the reformed orthography.
When the first resource with the reformed orthography is received, change the authorized access point for corporate body to that form. Use judgment in making a variant access point for corporate body from the earlier form.
