Prerecording

Routinely record the element by recording one or more of the appropriate subelements.

For electronic resources, do not record the name of a resource provider or the title of a database package in this element or any related element. For additional guidance and examples refer to MLA RDA Metadata Guidance under Format-Specific Guidance.

LC/PCC Core for manifestations in published form. Manifestation: date of publication, Manifestation: name of publisher, and Manifestation: place of publication are core subelements. Other subelements of publication statements are optional. Not LC Core for archival moving image materials.

In MARC: Record as a structured description using the subelements of this element in field 264 (second indicator 1) subfields $a, $b, and $c.
