Record the element or an appropriate narrower element if deemed useful for identification or selection. For audio and video recordings: Routinely record the element for performers or participants not named in a statement of responsibility. Follow the instructions at Manifestation: note on statement of responsibility.

LC Core for Manifestation: note on title and Manifestation: note on issue or part or iteration used as basis for identification of manifestation, when applicable.
LC/PCC practice for aggregates: Provide a contents note unless the contents are indicated in another part of the description. There is no limit on the number of titles in the note unless burdensome. Titles of augmenting content may be included in a contents note or may be described in a separate note.

In MARC: Record as an unstructured description using field 500 or a more specific note field if appropriate. For information specific to a single institution, generally prefer field 590 or another locally-defined field.

LC practice: For archival moving resources, record notes citing secondary sources used for title proper and variant titles in the appropriate note type. Use cataloger's judgment to record notes further describing data about other elements.
