OLAC Best Practice for designation of edition

For videodiscs and streaming media, record an aspect ratio designation as a value of designation of edition only when it is presented as a designation of edition on the manifestation. For streaming media, follow PCC Provider-Neutral E-Resource MARC Record Guidelines. Record only the edition statements originating from the original publisher/society; ignore statements that pertain to specific provider versions. For video games, transcribe a statement of the video game platform as a designation of edition. If the resource lacks such a statement, supply the platform name in brackets if the cataloger judges it to be useful.
