In most cases, do not apply the option. However, if a single note covers more than one element describing the manifestation, apply the option. See DCRMR 1.29.3.1 , 9.3.25.1 , 9.3.3.1 .

In most cases, use cataloger's judgment. Some notes are required. See DCRMR 1.29.3.1 .

Use cataloger's judgment for variant titles borne by the manifestation other than the one chosen as the title proper. Always note the source of the title proper if it has been taken from a source other than the preferred source of information. See DCRMR 1.29.31 , 1.29.36 .

In most cases, do not apply the option. Record the corrected form of the title as a value of Manifestation: variant title of manifestation. However, if following the DCRMR alternative rule to transcribe the title without an interpolated correction, record the corrected title as a value of Manifestation: note on title, unless the misprint or misspelling occurs within the first five words (or, if the title begins with an article, the first six words). In that case, record the corrected form of the title as a value of Manifestation: variant title of manifestation. See DCRMR 0.4.72 , 1.25.355 .

Do not apply the option. If the error occurs within the first five words (or, if the title begins with an article, the first six words), record the title as it appears without the interpolated correction as a value of Manifestation: variant title of manifestation. See DCRMR 0.4.72 , 1.25.355 .
