LC/PCC practice: Do not apply the option in most cases. If there is doubt that a material is emulsion, use Manifestation: material.

LC practice: Apply the option if none of the terms in the RDA vocabulary encoding scheme, or its LC Linked Data Service equivalent, is appropriate or sufficiently specific. Notify PTCP of the need for a new term in the vocabulary encoding scheme.
