LC/PCC practice: See the Metadata Guidance documentation: Series/subseries: Manifestation: numbering within sequence.

Option

LC/PCC practice: Do not apply the option.

Condition Option

LC/PCC practice: Apply the option if the chronological designation serves as a proxy numeric designation. Do not apply the option when recording both a numeric and/or alphabetic designation and a chronological designation. Instead include parenthesis around the chronological designation.

LC/PCC practice: See the Metadata Guidance documentation: Series/subseries: Manifestation: numbering within sequence.

Option

LC/PCC practice: Apply the option.

Condition Option

LC/PCC practice: Apply the option and record the correct numbering with a Manifestation: note on manifestation.

Condition Option

LC/PCC practice: Apply the option.

LC/PCC practice: See the Metadata Guidance documentation: Series/subseries: Manifestation: numbering within sequence.

Condition Option

LC/PCC practice: Apply the option.

Condition Option

LC/PCC practice: Do not apply the option. Instead, if there are different forms of the same series numbering within the resource, transcribe (in order of preference):

  1. the form on the same source as the series title proper
  2. a form that includes a caption
  3. any form chosen by the cataloger, if a. and b. do not apply

Condition Option

LC/PCC practice: Do not apply the option.

Condition Option

LC/PCC practice: Apply the option.

Condition Option

LC/PCC practice: Apply the option if no numbering sequences match the language or script of the title proper.

Condition Option

LC/PCC practice: Apply the option. If parallel titles for series/subseries are being recorded and the numbering also appears in more than one language or script, record each number after the title proper/parallel title to which it relates. If the number appears only once, record it after the title it linguistically matches or after the last title if it matches all, more than one, or none of the titles.

New sequence of numbering

Option

LC/PCC practice: Apply the option.

Condition Option

LC/PCC practice: Apply the option.
