LC/PCC Core for the source from which a title was taken, when applicable.
LC/PCC practice: Always give for online resources, in a CONSER Standard Record, and for rare graphics.
LC/PCC practice: Apply the option for titles proper if the title proper is not taken from one of these preferred sources: a) the title page, title sheet, or title card (or image of it) of a manifestation consisting of multiple pages, leaves, sheets, or cards (or images of them) or b) the title frame or title screen of a manifestation consisting of moving images. If a parallel title proper comes from a different source than the title proper, make a note on the source of the parallel title proper if considered important for identification or access.

LC/PCC practice: In most cases, do not apply the option. However, if a single note includes descriptions of more than one aspect of a resource entity, apply the option to use Manifestation: note on manifestation.

Title variations, inaccuracies, and deletions
Option
LC/PCC practice: For variant titles, including variant titles that are earlier (i.e. former title) or later titles of diachronic works, apply the option if the title is important for identification or access. If the different titles are not important for identification or access, record a note that the title, etc., varies.
LC/PCC practice: For earlier titles proper of an integrating work, apply the option.
LC/PCC practice: For moving image resources, apply the option.

LC/PCC practice: For monographs, including multipart monographs, apply the option.
