Condition Option
Record the franchise title and the number and/or specific title as part of the title proper, adding a colon after the franchise title for clarity. Do not put a space in front of the colon. Only record a title as other title information if it is clearly secondary to the title information and is not necessary to distinguish the title from other titles in the franchise.
For determining the title proper for motion pictures and television programs with both a comprehensive title and individual title(s), consult LC-PCC MGD: Work: Access point for work: Constructing access points for works (Motion Pictures (including film and video formats) section). Record titles of parts, sections, and supplements as part of the title proper in addition to a common title if they are insufficient to identify the resource on their own.

Cataloger's judgment. If no title can be found in any sources of information, devise a title in the predominant language presented in the resource; if that is not possible or practicable, devise a title in English. Title should indicate the nature and/or subject of the resource. Always record the source of the title proper in a Manifestation: note on manifestation.
