LC/PCC practice: If an authorized form has been established in the LC/NACO Name Authority File, apply the option by recording that authorized form.

LC/PCC practice: If no authorized form has been established in the LC/NACO Authority file, apply the option by (1) establishing a value of Place: access point for place as the authorized form in the LC/NACO Name Authority file, and/or (2) Recording a value of Place: access point for place on a bibliographic record.

LC/PCC practice: Apply the option except in the following cases: Do not add a larger place or jursidiction to places that prior to 1967 were in Jordan or Syria and that are currently within the administered territories of Israel, or to places in the Gaza Strip. For Jerusalem, use the authorized access point “Jerusalem."

LC/PCC practice: Record a value that includes either a fuller form of the name or a type of jurisdiction.

LC/PCC practice: Apply the option if specifically required by policy or the metadata system, as stated in the Metadata Guidance documentation.

LC/PCC practice: Do not apply the option.
